“Heat, heart and plenty of happy sighs.”

— Avery Flynn, USA Today bestselling author

Handle with Care, an all-new romantic standalone from Nina Croft is coming July 30th, and we have the gorgeous new cover!

2018-0682 Nina Croft b01

Synopsis

What if all you want is the one thing you can’t have?

First grade teacher Emily Towson always does the right thing. The sensible thing. But in her dreams, she does bad, bad things with the town’s baddest boy: Tanner O’Connor. But when he sells her grandmother a Harley, fantasy is about to meet a dose of reality.

And then he goes and calls her “sensible”…

Tanner can’t believe sweet Emily is standing in his shop. Yelling and waving her hands and looking so god damn sexy he’s having trouble focusing. He’d spent two hard years in prison, with only the thought of this “good girl” to keep him sane.

He really should send her away…

Before either one thinks though, they’re naked and making memories on his tool bench with apparently the oldest condom in history. Now Tanner’s managed to knock-up the town’s “good girl” and she’s going to lose her job over some stupid “morality clause” if he doesn’t step up.

But can this bad boy teach his good girl they’re perfect for each other in time?

About Nina:

Growing up in the cold, wet, north of England, Nina Croft spent a lot of time huddled under the blankets dreaming of faraway sunnier places and ponies. When she discovered both could be found between the covers of a book, her life changed forever.
At the age of eighteen, in an attempt to turn dreams into reality, she headed south in search of the sun. She quickly picked up the perfect husband along the way, and developed a taste for red wine and holidays in warm places.
Soon holidays weren’t enough, and together they volunteered to work in Africa where they both discovered a love of traveling and a dislike of 9-5 work. Afterward they spent a number of years travelling (whenever possible) intermingled with working (whenever the money ran out.) Eventually they stumbled upon a remote area in the mountains of southern Spain where they bought the small almond farm they now call home.
No electricity, no neighbors, no chocolate shops, but on the plus side, stunning scenery, a vineyard to make her own red wine, and far enough away from anywhere to satisfy Nina’s hermit tendencies. She shares the farm with her husband, and an ever increasing number of animals, including Piggles, a three-legged Vietnamese pot-bellied pig.
Nina now spends her days riding her mare Gencianna under the blue Spanish skies—sunshine and ponies. She reckons this is proof that dreams really can come true if you want them enough.
She still travels, but usually only in her imagination, and can often be found lying under a fig tree, wine in hand, plotting stories of love in faraway places.
Nina believes love can come to anyone, anytime, anywhere and her books reflect this.

Excerpt:

His lips are smooth, but not soft. They’re too powerful. Too demanding. Too dominant to be considered soft. His tongue? It’s soft. He drags it across my bottom lip. Then my top. Bypassing my teeth because unlike me, he’s not an enamel licker. And unlike him, I’m not an asshole. So I take the hint and open my mouth wider so he can devour me. And taste me. And I can taste him. And guess what…

He tastes like whiskey and mint.

I don’t know where the mint came from, but trust me the cool hint of spearmint is there. I make a mental note to see how much a bottle of that twenty-four-hour mouthwash he uses runs on Ebay.

I whimper when his hand slides into my hair. He growls at the noise. Tightens his hold. Curls his other hand around my waist and pulls me closer to him. This time when I stumble, he catches me. Or should I say his chest catches me. Either way, I’m pressed against that unyielding, concrete slab he wears beneath his shirt.

Slow.

He kisses me so slow. How can something so languid, so tantalizing, so consuming be so damn passionate? Hell if I know. But this guy? He can do it.

I never want it to stop. God please don’t let it stop. His hand slides to the side of my neck. Cups my cheek. Thumb rubs along my jaw. He pulls his tongue back but keeps his lips on mine. Pressing soft, sweet kisses across the swell of my bottom lip. I fight the urge to jab my tongue back into his mouth because I know the kiss is coming to an end.

I’m boneless when he pulls his mouth from mine. But he keeps me pinned to him. So close I can still feel his warm breath on my bruised lips. My eyes flutter open and I gaze up to meet his. Those whirlwinds of color darken by the second with some unspoken promise that I pray is something dirty and erotic.

“That, Penelope, was a kiss.”

The Varlet and the Voyeur

BANNER-BlogTour.jpg

The Varlet and the Voyeur, an all-new standalone in the USA Today bestselling Rugby Series from Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway is available NOW!

Cover

He kept his salacious secret for years. But soon, everyone is going to be reading about it in their morning paper…

THE VARLET (and the VOYEUR)

William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he’s now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn’t the clean-cut, all-American good-guy everyone imagines him to be. He’s got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever.

THE VOYEUR (and the VARLET)

Josey Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she’s finally get her shi…uh, act together. She’s set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there’s one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Josey homeless and in need of a job to pay her way through college.

THE PLAN

What he needs is a companion to keep him on the right path.

What she needs is an apartment with free rent.

Will is convinced Josey will make the perfect companion, since she’s brutally honest and basically ‘just one of the guys.’ Josey is convinced she can ensure Will doesn’t succumb to his voyeuristic proclivities by keeping a scrupulous eye on him.

Except, what happens when the varlet is tempted by the voyeur, and vice-versa?!

Perchance something very, very volatile. And vexing.

The Varlet and the Voyeur is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the 4th(and last) book in the USA TODAY bestselling Rugby Series.

Excerpt:

*Will*

When I saw how spotless the shared living space was, I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me and peeked my head into her bathroom, Rocky dancing around my feet as I entered the space. The counters were covered in woman-products, but the marble surface and sink were free of water spots, and the glass of the shower had been wiped clean.

I glanced at Rocky. He glanced at me. Bemused, I chuckled to myself, about to turn back to the door, and that’s when I spotted it.

A dildo.

A big, Pyrex dildo.

With ridges.

In the shower.

I froze, blinked, and I stared at it, my brain sluggish. Oddly, I had to remind myself to breathe. Likely because I was . . .

I was—

I was shocked.

I shook myself, tearing my eyes from it and rubbing my chest where an odd kind of pang was spreading mild warmth up my neck.

But why was I shocked?

Why should I be surprised?

Despite my never seeing her that way, Josey was a woman and women have needs.

Don’t they?

I hadn’t grown up around women—any women. My mother died when she had my youngest brother. My grandmother died before I was born. I had no sisters. We lived on a farm, way out in BFN Oklahoma.

Girls—women—and their bodies were sacred lands of the unknown to us Moore boys.

Unbidden—completely unbidden—an image of Josey flashed through my mind’s eye. Her full lips parted, her big eyes closed, causing her thick black lashes to catch droplets of water before they dripped over her sharp cheekbones. Her head would be lolled back as shower spray melted bubbles of slippery soap, sliding down her bare skin as they dissolved. Her legs would be parted, and maybe one hand would be braced against the wall of the shower while the other moved in a steady rhythm.

Holding that huge, glass dildo.

I swallowed a sudden rush of salvia and, unable to help myself, I leaned closer to the sex toy, examining it and comparing its size against my own.

I was bigger.

But not by much.

And for some reason, this realization made me instantly hard.

Crap.

Of course I knew Josey was a woman, but until this moment, I’d never really thought of her that way. Not even the tampon-mountain drove the point home. Up until this point, she was someone I liked as a person, someone who made me laugh, who was smart and compassionate, someone around whom I felt completely comfortable. A good—no, a great companion.

She was still all of those things, except—

Except now I’ve pictured her naked.

FASTER by: Deana Birch

“I think probably with any performer, but maybe with rock music especially, the audience wants to see the singer being real, and exploring, and not doing a rehearsed routine, so I’m just constantly looking for new things to try. I’m really curious out there, and my curiosity has led me into all kinds of bizarre situations.”Rivers Cuomo
Bizarre like an office lunch room with a sexy brunette? Possibly the most normal thing that ever happened to Jake… which inherently makes it bizarre in his world.
This is where we meet the ridiculously hot Jake Riley, drummer for The Spades, an amazing up-and-coming rock band set to take the nation by storm. And also the author of their breakout hit. Meaning he is not only insanely attractive and brilliantly talented, but also rapidly becoming a less than starving artist. My darling Jake ticks all the boxes, ladies.
Enter Louana Higgins. So much more than a pretty face, she not only has brains, but an inside knowledge of the music industry as a producer for a film composer. Plus just enough sass to put cocky Jake in his place. And a cooking acumen that brings him to his knees. Louana is a very dynamic and multi-faceted character that has been raised to people please to a fault. Which makes her very relatable for certain readers who can identify with a mentality that happy is the only acceptable emotion to display and manners trump everything. (Do you see that big, blinking arrow pointing directly at me? Yeah…)
FASTER takes us on the, sometimes bumpy, journey as Jake learns to navigate his very first big boy relationship that actually involves learning the girl’s last name and Louana weighs whether Jake is worth risking her heart again. One celebrity boyfriend already dots her past and has left a sour taste. They face real life challenges of separation as Jake goes on tour, Louana struggles with trust, and they test the waters of integrating two lives while maintaining their independence. Punctuated with ridiculously hot sex.
But a review of FASTER just simply would not be complete without mentioning the two supporting characters who happen to steal the show: landlady Fern and her beloved pit bull Archie. If you walk away from this book not adoring them both, I question your sanity and your capacity for emotion. You clearly were not hugged enough as a child.
FASTER is a hot and spicy read that I devoured quickly and then mourned the end of because you simply can NOT get enough of Jake and Louana in one book. Thank all the things that are good that there is a second part to be released in the near future! There is no such thing as too much Jake. I mean, did I MENTION the ridiculously hot sex???
Make sure FASTER is high on your summer read list. You will NOT be disappointed.

#WriteOnFriday ~ Support

Hello there, my beautiful writing tribe! You’ve made it through another week with all its challenges and trials. Congratulations!!!

And it has been a week! One of ups and downs. Of deadlines and submissions. Of sadly lost ideas and new projects. The one thing that threads each of these together is support.

I get it. Writing is a solitary endeavor. An emotional journey mostly comprised of introverts who bleed their very souls onto a blank page. It’s hard to open up to one another. ESPECIALLY when that includes sharing aforementioned bloody soul with someone else. Or multiple someone elses.

But just as we know that ugly first drafts, edits, and rejections are all part and parcel to the writing life, so is sharing your work. If you are smarter than I, you will be certain to share your work with good, trusted, helpful betas and critique partners before submitting anywhere. I mean, I now have the best and you can’t have mine, but I’m sure you can find some good ones. Also… you can’t have mine. Just sayin.

Sharing your work can come with boundless fear and anxiety. Okay, who are we kidding, unless you are completely delusional, it will come with boundless fear and anxiety. That is simply the nature of the beast. Something my week has been fraught with.

So in addition to the invaluable services of betas and critique partners, get thee a designated Hand Holder. At least one. Maybe more if you are super needy and riddled with anxiety on a daily basis which only ramps up to epic levels when submitting your book baby somewhere (clearly, I can not identify with this AT ALL). Someone who will agree that this whole process is so very hard, but so very worth it. Someone to cheerlead you through the dark days where you are pretty sure you forgot what words even are. Someone to support you when you are too weak to see your own awesome. And someone who will scream at you until you hit that blankety blank “submit” button.

Writers are islands unto themselves in so many ways, but beauty deserves to be a tourist destination and the creative soul is a stunning place. Don’t be afraid to allow visitors in that will marvel at your splendor and love you along the bumps this journey provides.

And now I leave you with an ear worm…

I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me.
Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town.
Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me.
On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.
In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.
I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.
And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.
Oops…
